High Priestess

Monica Stanton (Eala Atnara), a third degree initiate and Priestess of the Assembly of the Sacred Wheel (ASW), is one of the founding members of the Fellowship of the Ancient White Stag (FAWS). In 2011 she became the acting High Priestess of the coven. She is a Priestess of Sekhmet, but works with many pantheons since her coveners follow many different paths.

Before officially joining the ASW in 2006, Monica was active with the "coffee klatch," a community service organization and one of the precursors of FAWS. The leader of coffee klatch was the first High Priestess of FAWS, and she taught Monica, as well as a number of other eager students, "Wicca 101" in the style of the ASW. Monica studied History and Biblical Archaeology at Brigham Young University and lived briefly in Israel and Egypt during that time. She has her BS from BYU and her MS from the University of Manchester. She married in 1983 and gave up the "Indiana Jones" lifestyle, preferring instead to lead a more settled life - working for Pan American World Airways. She loves to travel and continues to do to do so whenever the chance presents itself. She is the travel coordinator for the ASW and their group tours to different locations around the globe. Her personal motto comes from a 4th century saint, "The world is like a book and those who do not travel read only one page."

Monica enjoys the study of magical paths and practices, firmly believing that we should never stop learning.
